OHS Pink Week!

Principles of Health Science classes welcomed guest speakers from Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital - Beaumont to talk about their careers in the Health Informatics Pathway. Christa Breaux, ADN, RN, Quality Management Coordinator, and Alison Guidry, BSN, RN, Risk Manager, discussed their roles and responsibilities in these areas and the qualities and characteristics needed to be successful in their field. OISD would like to thank them for sharing their knowledge and expertise with our students and inspiring the next generation of future healthcare professionals.

Mrs. Feidler's high school art classes made a comeback cooler to send to an area affected by Hurricane Helene. With Tamina Hogg ( the owner of Apple Tree), they were able to pass it forward for all the assistance and help that Orangefield received in the past years. OHS wants to remind them that they are stronger than the storm.
A comeback cooler is designed with vibrant colors and meaningful symbols to represent home, resilience and community spirit. They are then delivered to hurricane victims, military, linemen and other groups involved.

Mrs. Spears' Principles of Education and Training classes hand wrote and illustrated children's books. Each book had to contain a moral and a rhyme scheme. Apple Tree graciously allowed us to go over and read our books to the kids. While there, we toured the facility and learned about the possible career opportunities within child care.

This week's 409Sports Band of the Week contest features Orangefield Vs Anahuac.

A huge thank you to Dr. McAlpin for coming to speak to Mrs. Spears' Ready, Set, Teach students. He shared his background and all of the different positions he’s held within the district. He also shared information about professionalism and legal/ethical responsibilities associated with a career in education. He brought prizes and kept them all entertained. It was very informative and extremely motivating!
