Last night at the BabeZaharias Golf Awards, Xander and Lincoln Parks were named the Babe Zaharias Boys Golfers of The Year and Coach Todd Trawhon was named the Babe Zaharias Boys Golf Coach of The Year.

OHS Health Science classes have had several guest speakers over the last couple of weeks. Shelby Bryan, EMT, and Nathan Heuler, Paramedic, from Acadian Ambulance Service, and Lance Mendoza, CRNA with Anesthesia Associates, spoke with students about the education and career paths available in their fields of healthcare and demonstrated some of the skills used in their daily life. Also, Helen Simmons, RN, CDCES from Baptist Hospital Diabetic Education Department, spoke with pharmacology students about the different types of insulin and proper injection technique. We would like to extend a big thank you to these professionals for taking time out of their schedules to inspire students in our community!




Two Orangefield High School students, Jackson Humplik and Nathan Miller, participated in the 3rd Annual Career & Technical Education Signing Day at Lamar State College Orange.
Jackson Humplik and Nathan Miller received the Cloeren Incorporated Scholarship. This scholarship will allow Jackson and Miller to earn an associates degree in Mechatronics, (Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Maintenance).
A very special thank you to Dr. Thomas Johnson, President Lamar State College Orange for hosting the CTE Signing Day and to Cloeren Incorporated for their generous support of Orangefield High School students.



April 23rd was the county finals for the 119th annual Stark Reading Contest. Kaitlyn Jenkins (Declamation) and Matthew Whitten (Interpretive Reading) faced really tough competition from the other four Orange county school districts. Matthew Whitten (pictured) beat out the four other competitors in Interpretive Reading earning an additional $5,000 in scholarship funds.


Megan Hanks with Neches Federal Credit Union came to speak to Mrs. Spears' Principles of Human Services class about Financial Literacy. She covered checking vs. savings accounts, gross vs. net pay, expenses after graduation, building a budget, credit scores, and establishing and improving credit.



The Orangefield Lady Bobcats defeated the East Chambers Lady Bucs 16-0 in 3 innings.
Abigail Curphey got the start on the mound with 2 strikeouts in an inning of work. Charlee Sanches closed the door in the last two innings giving up 1 hit, with 3 strikeouts.
The Lady Bobcats tallied 14 hits total on the day, highlighted by Harleigh Rawls and Charlee Sanches back to back homeruns in the first inning. Harleigh Rawls led the way with 2 hits, including a homerun, 3 RBIs, and 2 runs scored. Charlee Sanches also had 2 hits, 2 RBIs, and 2 runs scored. Aubree Beck was 2 for 3 on the night with 2 runs scored and 2 RBIs. Emily Meyers was 2 for 3 with a double 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Paris Becker had 2 hits, with an RBI and a run scored. Hallee Becker had a hit, a walk, an RBI and 2 runs scored. Alysen Vincent had a double, a walk, 2 RBIs, and a run scored. Rylee Dougay had a hit, an RBI and 2 runs scored. Haylee Spears had a double to right center, and Abigail Curphey added a single.
The Lady Bobcats grab their 20th win of the season, and improve to 10-2 in district play. They will travel to Buna on Friday with JV beginning at 5:00 and varsity at 6:30.
