
Six students from the Orangefield chapter of Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) represented OHS at the Teach Tomorrow Summit on February 17-19, 2025 at Moody Gardens, in Galveston. These young women put in countless hours to prepare, plan, and execute presentations worthy of a place among competitors from all over Texas. They all did outstanding, but one team of competitors was recognized for their hard work and was invited to the Educators Rising National Conference June 26-29 in Orlando, Florida. Congratulations to Kiley Nichols and Madison KC for this amazing accomplishment.
All of the teams received certificates for their accomplishments and are as follows:

West Orange Stark Powerlifting Meet
Thursday, February 13, 2025
The next meet is Girls Regionals on Thursday, February 27the at Bay City (4PM)



The Bobcats opened their season in Nederland at the Bulldog Relays. A lot of the young Bobcats got their first taste of a varsity track meet. Some of the young cats that stood out were Koa Sides running a leg in the 4x100m relay, 4x200m relay, and the open 100m. Gage Lucas ran the open 100m and 4x200m relay.
The high spots for the bobcats were Steyle Spurlock, Caden Knott, and Zach Morrow.
Steyle competed in the Long jump, the 4x100m Relay and placed 7th in the 100m.
Caden Knott put together good performances in the shot put and discus.
Zach Morrow had a great day at the track placing 5th in the triple jump, 4th in the long jump, 7th in the 110m hurdles, and 4th in the 300m Hurdles.
The Track team will be at PNG this Thursday for their next meet.

⛳️ Larry Paine Memorial Invitational Golf Tournament 🏆
This Thursday, local golf teams took to the fairways at Bayou Din Golf Course in Beaumont for the Larry Paine Memorial Invitational. 🏌️♂️🏌️♀️ Congrats to Lincoln Parks for finishing in the top spot with a 1 over par 72! 👏
Orangefield team totaled 341, with notable performances from:

G. Gravett: 97
Next up is the Lumberton Invitational at Homberg in Beaumont, next week!


Members of the HOSA - Future Health Professional student organization at OHS collected items to distribute to residents at Oakwood Manor in Vidor. The students were able to visit with residents and deliver Valentine wishes, blankets, socks, and activity books. We would like to thank the Floral Design classes, who made the visit even sweeter with their donation of individually wrapped flower stems and arrangements for the residents.



On Monday, the Orangefield JV boys golf team competed in the Silsbee Invitational, held at the Silsbee Country Club. The Bobcats were led by Logan Anderson, who finished as the 2nd Place medalist, with a score of 89. The team also consisted of Davey Hogg (97), Andy Rutledge (103), and Noah Gleason (104).


It's TWIRP Week at OHS! FCCLA hosted the annual TWIRP Olympics on Monday. Participants competed in 5 events: Sack Race, Basketball Free-throw Shootout, Scooter Race, Red Light Green Light, and the Egg Toss. The Sophomores, Class of 2027, came away with the victory!

The OHS Sophisticats attended Crowd Pleasers' Bridgeland Showcase in Cypress, TX this past weekend and won the following awards:

Students from Orangefield High School attended the Youth Career Expo, an annual event held by Workforce Solutions Southeast Texas to introduce area high school youth to exciting career choices and pathways. Students participate in hands-on experiences while talking to recruiters and professionals about the needs of local industries. Local colleges, universities, and training programs are also on site to help provide a path to students’ desired careers. The Expo helps equip young adults to have a great life and earn a strong income while living in Southeast Texas.








OHS students from the HOSA-Future Health Professionals student organization traveled to Nimitz High School in Houston this past weekend to compete at the Area 6 HOSA Spring Leadership Conference. We would like to congratulate Katie Guyote, who came away with a 1st place medal and an invitation to the state conference in her event, Personal Care. We are proud of these students for taking a step to become leaders in their future healthcare careers and beyond.



On Saturday February 1st, 16 OHS choir students attended the Region 10 UIL Solo/Ensemble Contest. Seven students earned Excellent ratings and nine earned Superiors...seven of which have qualified for the State Solo and Ensemble competition in May.
Congratulations to these students for all of their hard work.
Excellent ratings were awarded to: Aiden Barnett, Abby Bryant, Sophia Capetillo,India Garrett, Madison McCormack, Hope Samms and Madison Trammell.
Superior Ratings were awarded to: Jayde Baggett, Diana Burns, Tessa Bailey, Kenley Copeland, Landon Dickens, Christa Kyle, Jose Salinas, Olivia Shearer and Crissa Spell.

Members of the UIL Academic teams competed at the Nederland Invitational UIL Meet on Saturday, January 25.

Spring Meet the Bobcats!


Last night, the district round of the Stark Reading Contest took place for OHS. In Declamation, the second place winner, earning a $2,000 scholarship was Naomi Madrid. Taking first place, earning $2,500 and advancing to the county round was Tessa Bailey. In Interpretive Reading, the second place winner, earning a $2,000 scholarship was Emmerson Rodriguez. Taking first place, earning $2,500 and advancing to the county round was Katy West. The first place competitors will advance to the country round on February 6th at the Lutcher Theater.
