Major Butler led the Bobcats on offense, running for three touchdowns and totaling over 40 yards receiving. Kaysen Click converted two two-point conversions and Dawsen Revia converted the other. Gage Lucas jetted around the edge for his weekly touchdown, and Jaxon Agerton converted three two-point conversions on quarterback sneaks. The defense also had an outstanding night. OJH students in Mrs. Renner's class visited the Port Arthur Fire Department and Museum of the Gulf Coast last Friday. From there, they went to the Museum of the Gulf Coast. They gained valuable information about the origin of the oil industry in Southeast Texas, as well as the local men and women who developed the industry we have today. They also learned about local individuals who helped America secure victory in World War II, and local talent who became industry leaders in music, art, sports, television, photography, and movies.

On Tuesday, the B-team traveled to Deweyville for a homecoming grudge match. Unfortunately, the Bobcats struggled to move the ball on offense as they lost, 24-0. Standouts for the game were Mason Boullion with 11 tackles, Keaton Betros forced a fumble, and Roc Slaughter made a touchdown-saving tackle on special teams.
On Thursday, the Bobcats opened up District play at Buna. 7th grade started off the game by marching down the field and scoring a touchdown early, which set the tone of the game. Offensively, there were several Bobcats who showed out. Kaysen Click scored a touchdown and converted three 2-point conversions. Lawrence Steiner flashed his speed around the edge all night and scored on a 41-yard run. Andrew Burt scored a touchdown on offense and led the team with nine tackles. Major Butler caught two passes that totaled 45 yards. Tryton Petersen also scored on a reverse at the end of the game to bring the score to 36-14. On defense, the linebackers stole the show. Kolston Robinson, Burt, and Steiner led the team in tackles, and the secondary, made up of Easton Locke, Zach Ellis, Click, and Butler, kept the Buna air attack under control.
The 8th grade came out sluggish again with a quick three and out on offense and then gave up a long touchdown. The offense answered on a beautiful 62-yard pass and catch from Hunter Reeves to Jaxon Agerton. At the half, the score was 6-8 with Buna leading, and the Bobcats decided to put their foot on the gas. Gage Lucas scored on a reverse from 45 yards out. Reeves also ran one in from 52 yards out with an escort from Case Comeaux, as he plowed over three defenders. Agerton and Reeves also connected on several other passes totaling over 100 yards. Almost everyone on defense stepped up and made a play. Korbyn "Butter" Smith had an interception, sack, forced a fumble, and ran for over 60 yards on offense. Luke Erickson and Logan Anderson had several pass deflections, as they battled all night long in the secondary. Agerton added another interception late in the game, and Kip Watkins and John Royer forced multiple fumbles from the Cougars. The Cats took the win over the Cougars, 18-8.
Next week, the Bobcats will take on the Anahuac Panthers at home.
