VAN H. “BO” HENLEY, PLACE I

(1989-2006) (2012-PRESENT)

Van H. Henley, better known as Bo, was born in Dallas, Texas. In 1972, his family moved to Orangefield, Texas.

Bo graduated from Orangefield High School in 1979 and he has continued to live in the Orangefield community. Since graduating from OHS, Bo works at Dow Sabine River Operations in Orange, Texas and is currently a senior process technician. He has worked at this facility for forty-three years.

He and Tammy were married in 1980. They have two children Johnathan and Amber, both are Orangefield graduates. Together they have seven grandchildren, four Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns and three Orangefield Bobcats.

Johnathan broke the state and several other records while pole vaulting for the Bobcats. After graduating from high school, he received a scholarship to Nebraska University in pole vaulting. He later transferred and graduated from Texas A&M University. After graduating from college, he moved back to the area and is currently employed with Ecolab.

Amber graduated from Lamar University in nursing. She is co-owner at Flair Photos and she works at Pro Miles in Bridge City.

Bo enjoys volunteering at the Cormier Museum and he participates in the Orangefield FFA Booster Club.
